Slide 7
The dominant colour scheme of this double page spread is black, white and pink. The black is used to give it a more edgy, darker side to her, the article and her personality. The pink is used to give the article and the artist: Rihanna a feminine and innocent side.
Slide 8
It crosses over into both pages of the spread. The text: being bold and larger then the article text so this allows the pull quote to stand out from the rest, it is striking and add a controversy with the artist boasting about how she can only do a certain type of songs. Has no headline however the opening line of the first paragraph is in bold and a lot larger font size from the rest of the article which allows the reader to go straight into the article and allow the reader to know where to start reading from.
Slide 9
Colour image Landscape Indirect contact: the artist The colour of the tank is the way to contrast against what tanks are used for (also being painted pink), they are sued for war and killing whereas the pink is a feminine and soft colour. Another addition to the sexual image is that Rihanna has a lot of skin showing with he thighs, cleavage and other flesh being exposed and she is wearing fish net tights which is an icon of sex and attraction to males. Also to contrast against the idea of war is that Rihanna is wearing a helmet that features "Mickey Mouse" ears. The helmet is an iconic of childhood and Disney, this contrasts childhood and innocence against violence and war. It also adds a playful and fun element to the artist, who isn't affair to express herself through her clothing and likes taking risks and it looks like she has a duel side to her.
Slide 10
Typical conventional DPS The picture is on the right so it catches your eye Effective by drawing attention to the picture and then to the text
Slide 12
Features interviews with artists, actors and other entertainers The magazine is sold in more than 20 countries Been nominated for two awards The magazine was an online compendium of hip hop news, gossip and top ten music lists
Slide 16
The dominant colour scheme of this double page spread is white, green and pink. Green is associated with new growth which can connect with the ‘New Attitude’ . Money/Wealth: Show the growth of a new upcoming artist who will earn a lot of money in the future and become successful. Also R n B/ Urban artists generally tend to show of their wealth and money by putting cars, expensive jewellery or scenery in their music videos or in their photo shoots. The pink is used to give the article and the artist: Mary a feminine side. The white is used to give it: innocence, purity, virtue and clarity to the artist. The green is used to give it: new growth, connotation with wealth and money.
Slide 17
“NEW ATTITUDE” is in pink but in contrast to the black and white of the rest of the quote but from the quote, the magazine has come up with a word to sum up what this artist is like. The quote picked out: she has realised that she is good enough and she deserves what ever blessings come her way  Shows her new attitude to her profession and has changed as she has come back.
Slide 18
Colour image Portrait Indirect contact: the artist Colours: White- This shows purity and simplicity which allows another colour such as green to not clash with her clothing as she is wearing not a striking colour. Green- This could show either new growth/fresh air/clean or jealousy/envy, by the title saying ‘New Attitude’ it could show the artist’s new sense of growth or jealousy by not looking at the camera with a serious face on her. Clothing: She is wearing a white long sleeve dress with black shoes, she has accessorised the clothing very simple so that it doesn’t clash with the green.
